Saskatoon Police have arrested and charged a 12-year-old male and 13-year-old male with manslaughter in connection to the suspicious death that occurred February 19, 2024.
Both males are also being charged with four weapons related offences.
This is the city’s fifth homicide of 2024. The victim was a 12-year-old male.
The Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section is investigating a suspicious death that occurred earlier this morning.
At approximately 3:00 am, February 19, 2024, patrol officers responded to a report on the 1000 block of Matheson Drive regarding a male youth who had sustained a serious injury. The youth was transported to hospital for further treatment however succumbed to his injury a short time later. At this time, the death is considered suspicious.
Police currently have two youth suspects and one adult suspect in custody. Investigators with the Major Crime and Forensic Identification Sections continue to investigate. There is no risk to the general public, and further updates will be released when more information becomes available.
