Police Presence - Weapons Investigation - 200 Block 20th Street West.

Saskatoon Police have charged a 24-year-old man with 2nd degree murder for the homicide that occurred February 19th in the 200 Block of 20th Street West. 

The man has also been charged with breaching a probation order. 

He is expected to make an appearance in court February 21, 2024.

Police presence in the 200 block of 20th Street West has now concluded.

The Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section is now investigating the cities fourth homicide of 2024.

At approximately 1:51 pm, on February 19, 2024, patrol officers responded to report of a male being stabbed on the 200 block of 20th Street West. Suspect had fled the scene before police arrival. A 35 year old male victim was transported to hospital where succumbed to his injuries a short while later.

Investigators with the Major Crime, Serious Assault Unit and Forensic Identification Sections continue to investigate. Further updates will be released as more information becomes available.

Police are conducting a weapons investigation in the 200 block of 20th Street West; a significant police presence exists and traffic restrictions are in place.

Members of the public are asked to avoid the area. An update will be provided upon conclusion of the incident or when new information becomes known.
