Subject: Bomb Scare Proved Unfounded - 50 23rd Street East

Members of the Saskatoon Police Explosive Disposal Unit were kept busy for several hours today after a report of a suspicious article was located in the area of 23rd Street, east of Idylwyld Drive.

Shortly after 10:00 A.M., November 4th, 2012, Saskatoon Police Received a complaint of a suspicious object which resembled a pipe bomb.

The object was safely transported from the scene to the Saskatoon Police Firearm Range where it was rendered safe. Explosive Disposal Unit members do not believe the article was an improvised explosive device, but the investigation is ongoing.
