Global Gathering Place

The Global Gathering Place is a non-profit organization that helps immigrants and refugees adapt to life in Canada by offering support and skill development, acceptance, and a welcoming environment. Since 1998, they have provided services for immigrants and refugees to improve English skills, make valuable connections in the community, find friends and employment, and adjust to Canadian customs and traditions. Their volunteers work in partnership with many other community groups. The services they offer are designed to help newcomers participate in all aspects of Canadian life in Saskatoon.

The Saskatoon Police Service works in partnership with the Global Gathering Place and helps immigrants feel secure by educating them about Canadian laws. With the assistance of volunteer translators from the Open Door Society, the Saskatoon Police Service produced the video An Overview of Canadian Law Enforcement in 16 different languages.
